About this Event
Join us for an unforgettable two-part Wilderness Adventure that starts with a magical evening on the river and concludes with a return for fireside poetry and storytelling.
Escape the bright lights of screens and civilization and allow your night vision to adjust to the dark skies of the River Valley. This adaptation can take almost an hour, but you will be amazed at how you can see the details of your surroundings and experience the river in ways you never have before. Wildlife is abundant, the stars are vibrant, and the sounds of owls and coyotes are unforgettable. Please note that for the optimal experience, no lights (cellphones or flashlights) are allowed on this trip; we ask that you trust yourself and the guides. Limited use of a headlamp will be permitted as deemed necessary.
After the moonlight paddle on June 13th concludes, take some time to reflect on your experience and let the details inspire a piece of writing to share. For the second part of the wilderness adventure, return to the Treehaus Studio on Friday, June 27th, and share your writing with the group during an informal fireside gathering.
