This is NOT a haunted tour! This is a historical and informative tour about our pioneers and people of the past.About this Event
Tour Details
- This tour takes place outside and will require participants to walk and stand for approximately 1.5 hours. There are uneven pathways within the cemetery and limited lighting.
- Volunteer Tour Guides will lead the historical tour while utilizing a portable sound system.
- Please arrive between 10 and 15 minutes early in order to ensure parking and check-in process prior to the tour start.
- Parks & Recreation Staff will be located near the entrance of the cemetery's "Center Circle" to direct parking, collect Participant Waiver Forms and any donations.
- Make note that registration for next month's tour opens 24 hours after the current tour ends
- Take note of the starting times of tours may vary depending on season.
What should I bring:
- Wear closed toe shoes
- Completed Participant Waiver Form
- Bring a flash light
- Insect repellent, if needed
- An umbrella or rain jacket, if needed
Optional Cemetery Donation:
- Please bring exact cash.
- No checks or credit card donations will be accepted.
- Donation receipts are available upon request.
Parking:
- You can either park directly at the cemetery, locate a public spot on a side street and walk to cemetery entrance, or at the Norton Museum parking lot directly next door, if available.
- If you decide to park at the cemetery, you will NOT be able to depart until the tour is over.
- We arrange the parking down the aisles of the cemetery, which results in single file parking.
- Parking on a side street or at the Norton parking lot would allow you to depart early, if needed.
Check In:
- You do NOT need to bring a printed Eventbrite Ticket with you.
- After parking, please check in with the Parks and Recreation Staff located near the "Center Circle" to fill out a Participant Waiver Form.
Restrooms:
- There are NO public restrooms in the cemetery.
Inclement Weather:
- If inclement weather is expected at 75% or greater, or a severe storm watch or warning has been issued prior to program starting time, Parks and Recreation Staff will contact Registered Participants by email to cancel tour and on the Eventbrite Event Site.
- Once onsite, weather will be monitored by the Parks and Recreation Staff. If heavy rain, lightening or thunder occur, tour participants will be asked to retreat to their vehicles for safety and the tour will be concluded.
- If tour is cancelled, please sign up for our next tour on Eventbrite.
