About this Event

Explore how clay can be used with young children in the early years to promote children’s creativity, expression and imagination with artist potter Jon Williams. Clay is a material that develops investigation, exploration and communication in its many ways of being presented to and encountered by children. Clay, in its many forms can be used in so many different ways even where a kiln is unavailable. The processes and possibilties of using this material offer children rich opportunities to explore and develop their senses, their ideas, as well as their gross and fine motor skills.

This practical and engaging seminar will provide you with knowledge of how to work with clay with your young children, including how to store and look after it, as well as developing ideas and approaches that support children’s learning and development, and meaning-making with this material. Jon will also share some of his work amazing work with young children, that will inspire and enable you to do the same with your children.

• No prior experience is needed; it will be an engaging and practical day, open to all abilities.

• There are 12 places available for this practical seminar on a first-come-first-served-basis.
