Moon Circles are a ritual event held on or near the new moon every month. These gatherings are open to all humans who identify as women. We come together to develop a closer relationship to each other, to nature, and to our own wild souls. We remember that we as women are magic, and that we are more powerful together in sisterhood than we are alone. We move away from competition and comparison, we step into community and collaboration. In the traditional way, we plant our intentions like seeds on the new moon and we nourish them as the moon grows toward fullness.
At our circles you can expect the following:
Guided meditation
Group check-in
Intention setting based on the theme of the month
Group ritual/Magical exercise
Singing/chanting
Creative visualization
Hot tea
Stay in touch all month via Group Chat
Circles are held from 7-8:30pm at our MLK studio. Registration is $20.
Circle dates for 2025:
April 25
May 23
June 27
July 25
August 22
September 19
October 24
November 21
December 19
We look forward to seeing you under the next dark moon. Blessed Be. ✨✨✨
About Sonya
Sonya Genel Dresser, ERYT500, embraces the power of yoga not only to heal and transform the body but also to heighten human consciousness and to create a radiant life. In her classes, Sonya weaves precise anatomical alignment with conscious breath and flowing movement. Her intention as a teacher is to support embodied spirituality and to hold space for transformation. Always approaching her students with authenticity and humor, Sonya believes yoga is for everybody, and she joyfully welcomes everyone to the practice.
When Sonya first discovered yoga in the late 1990’s, she began with Ashtanga yoga and Power Vinyasa. As her practice developed over time, Sonya gravitated more towards alignment based styles such as Iyengar and Anusara. She attended her first teacher training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Over the years she has completed hundreds more hours of training in alignment based yoga, prenatal yoga, anatomy, therapeutics, mysticism, tantra, and meditation. Sonya is deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to study closely with many incredible teachers. Most notably she apprenticed for several years with Sianna Sherman, an internationally acclaimed master teacher and the founder of Rasa Yoga.
Sonya now brings over 15 years of teaching experience to her classes, workshops, trainings and retreats. She is a certified teacher of Rasa Yoga, and holds an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance.
Sonya is also a mother, an artist, and a death doula. Her experience of pregnancy and motherhood informs every aspect of her life and work, and she is passionate about helping other women and moms find balance and health through yoga. As an artist, she notices the profound effects yoga has on her creativity, and she has dedicated herself to enthusiastically guiding others toward enhancing their own unique life path through yoga. Sonya also has a calling to work with the dying, and she offers her services as a death doula and a hospice volunteer whenever possible.
