LandxSea Film Fest is Scotland's Environmental Film Festival. More Than Movies. A Movement. LandxSea is Scotland’s leading platform for films and discussions that spark green ideas and actions. Each September, the LandxSea Film Festival transforms Montrose into a hub for bold environmental storytelling.
This year’s theme: Creative Ground: Artists Respond to the Climate, celebrates the power of artists to help us feel, reimagine, and respond to a rapidly changing world.
Our 3rd annual edition takes place 12–14 September 2025 at the Montrose Playhouse — a community-owned, state-of-the-art cinema on Scotland's northeast coast.
The 2025 programme includes 22 new films from around the world, including six Scottish premieres and 1 World premiere with live music, as well as conversations with filmmakers and artists, creative workshops and events, and our beloved Montrose Beach Dook!
Montrose LandxSea Festival is supported by Screen Scotland, The National Lottery's Lotto Good Causes and by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network, awarding funding on behalf of Screen Scotland and the BFI National Lottery.
