Walk through the seasons with Mainspring.
Once a month, spend your Thursday evening taking a casual stroll with a naturalist! We’ll amble through one of Mainspring’s preserves, taking the time to appreciate and learn about this season’s happenings. Our schedule changes with the seasons; this month’s special focus is fall foliage! Do certain types of trees always display certain colors? Why do leaves change colors in the fall anyway? Are some years more colorful than others, and if so what influences the autumn color show?
This event is free and open to the public, no registration is required. Just bring yourself, your water bottle, and your curiosity! We’ll meet just before 5:00pm on Thursday, October 16th in the parking lot of Welch Farm Preserve. See the map on our website for exact location: https://www.mainspringconserves.org/events/monthly-nature-walk-fall-foliage-in-andrews/. The walk will take about an hour and a half. Trails at Welch Farm are mowed-grass, and are mostly flat and even. There may be a few hazards to step over, such as divots, tree roots, or rocks.
