Monthly MUSE: REBIRTH — A New Year, A New Creative Flow
After a long hiatus, Monthly MUSE returns to kick off the new year with fresh energy and renewed spirit. Join us as we relaunch our signature life-drawing experience in the heart of Mount Pleasant at the cozy and intimate Astro Club Creative Lounge.
This month’s theme — REBIRTH — invites artists of all levels to explore transformation, renewal, and evolution through the human form. Whether you’re a seasoned illustrator or simply looking for a grounding creative escape, this session is designed to inspire.
Expect an elevated experience featuring:
- A thematic life-drawing session inspired by rebirth and new beginnings
- Ambient acoustic soundscapes to deepen your focus and flow
- A refreshed selection of materials and media to experiment with
- Complimentary beverages and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
Monthly MUSE is all about slowing down, reconnecting with creativity, and building community through artistic expression. Bring your sketchbook—or use the materials provided—and settle into an evening of art, music, and inspiration.

Warm-Up Poses: Quick Gestures (10 mins)
Info: 10 × 1-minute poses
Loosen up your arms and get that charcoal to paper. Time to build the overall shape and the lines that make up the body.
*Announcement of the start and call out pose transitions every minute.
Quick Sketches: Rapid Pose (24 mins)
Info: (4) 2 Minute Poses : Start refining shapes and building out reference components of your drawing. (4) 4 minute Poses: A little longer time to add more definition. Work on tightening proportions.
*Announcement the start of each pose and give a 1-minute warning before switching.
Defined Sketches : Medium Pose (30 mins)
Info: (2) 15 minute Poses. Now that you have explored the general proportions of the model time to shade. We will provide a direct light source and add props to integrate creative elements to your composition. *Provision of a soft reminder halfway through.
Intermission / BREAK (10 mins)
Info: 10-minute break
We invite guests our guests to refresh drinks, stretch, and mingle.
*Signal when 2 minutes are remaining.
Final Sketch : Long Pose (30-45 mins)
Info: 30 mins - 45mins. This is where we use the remaining surplus of time to develop some more refined pieces. Time to put shape, shading, tone all into proportion and perspective. (Ask about our really cool paper options). *Signal will be made halfway through and with 2 mins left.
