About this Event
This 2 hour workshop will cover the basics of starting and maintaining a mindfulness meditation practice, including discussion on mindfulness and a variety of guided meditation practices.
Feel free to join us every month as part of your regular mediation practice.
This workshop is specifically designed for beginners to introduce you to the practice of mindfulness meditation and familiarize you with our center. During the session, you will learn how to sit silently and explore the purposes, goals, and benefits of mindfulness meditation. Our aim is to help you feel comfortable as you begin your meditation journey and prepare you for joining our regular weekly meetings. This is a perfect opportunity to start cultivating a mindfulness practice that promotes inner peace and well-being.
Marianne Pilgrim is an Occupational Therapist working for the Chico VA and has worked with the US military for over 18 years, teaching service members the basics of meditation.
Marianne is working towards becoming a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Instructor by training with the Mindful Academy in Solterreno, Spain and with the Mindfulness Center at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She attends the Monday Night Slowly Ripening Sangha meetings (Zen in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh).
Marianne is thrilled to teach others the practice of mindfulness meditation and how it can awaken one to the present moment of their own lives.
