PFLAG Grinnell/Poweshiek will host a panel discussion with local LGBTQ individuals on November 10th at 7pm at the Grinnell UMC, located at the corner of 5th and Park St.. The panel will feature area residents of varying ages and gender identities.Hearing the stories of our neighbors is a great way for people to gain understanding and compassion for the challenges that LGBTQ individuals face. Most of the panel members are older and lived a significant part of their lives closeted. The insight and wisdom they can share is something we think will be very impactful for those who attend.
During the event, each panelist will share for 5-10 minutes before the discussion is opened up for questions and discussion with attendees. This event is open to all and will include refreshments, resource sharing and time for support and community building.
PFLAG Grinnell/Poweshiek meets monthly to offer support and community to area LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. More information on events, as well as access to a full catalog resource publications, can be found on the group website at pflag-grinnell.org.
