Join the incredible Ingrid for deep connection of Kirtan & Mantra. No experience is required.
What is Kirtan:
Kirtan stems from a Sanskrit root that means 'to cut through', so kirtan is a 'cutting through the idea of separation, for connecting to our hearts and connecting to the moment through sound' It is a devotional practice that involves call and response with one person leading the chanting while others respond to what has been sung.
Call and response is 100% optional. If you don't feel comfortable singing or chanting aloud, you will still have a magical experience immersing yourself within the group.
Each event will be a different blend of mantra chanting, kirtan and song. These sessions are aimed at helping us to drop from our minds down to our hearts to feel more positive, calm and connected.
The Centre for Positive Change is a sacred space that adheres to traditional Buddhist and yogic principles prohibiting animal products, including leather, wool and sheepskin. Please note that you are welcome to bring along a rattle or a drum if you have one, however due to the sacred nature of the location, no animal products are permitted in the building, only synthetic drums and rattles are allowed.
More about Ingrid:
Ingrid was made redundant in 2015 and decided to change her life. She travelled to New Zealand to study classical yoga for herself but the universe had other plans. During the course she fell in love with mantra and bhakti yoga and learned how to play the harmonium and lead kirtan. She started teaching and continued her yoga studies completing further qualifications in yin yoga, yoga nidra, Mantra and meditation. She is passionate about sharing the power of Mantra and bhakti yoga with others as sacred sounds can create deep inner peace, balance energy, heal, and nourish the connection with the divine - within and without. Ingrid is a passionate yoga teacher, life coach, horticulturist, and author helping others to tap into their Self and is looking forward to sharing the magic of Mantra and kirtan with you.
