All meetings of the Board of Directors are open to all Members. Members other than directors may notparticipate in any discussion or deliberation unless permission to speak is requested on the Member’s
behalf by a director. To accomplish this, we’ve developed some guidelines which we’ve outlined below.
1. Meeting Conduct
- Members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.
- Recording and/or live streaming of the meeting is NOT allowed. We are a private organization and, as such, information and discussion is for members only and not for public consumption.
- Members will be given a specific time slot by the President to present their issue or concern, ONLY if permission to speak has been requested and approved (see below).
- Interruptions, personal attacks, and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Members should address the Board as a whole, not individual directors.
2. Confidentiality and Topics Not Open for Discussion
- The Board may not discuss specific collections issues, individual member disputes, or any topics that involve personal or sensitive information in open meetings.
- Personnel matters, legal issues, and contract negotiations are also considered confidential and will
be discussed in closed, executive sessions only.
- Any topic deemed sensitive by the Board can be moved to a closed, executive session.
3. How to Get on the Agenda
- Members must submit a written request to the Board Secretary at least 10 days before the scheduled meeting.
- The Board will review the request and confirm if it has been added to the agenda. Members will be notified at least 5 days before the meeting.
