Ann Jaeger will be discussing her book, the first ever biography of Ann Rule, bestselling author of thirty-five books still in print. Seventeen are television movies. It’s a between the pages look at "The Queen of True Crime" and the cases we shared, by her friend of more than thirty years, Anne Jaeger.
About The Author:
Anne Jaeger spent four decades as a journalist, a career that paralleled her 30-year friendship with best-selling true crime author Ann Rule. The two shared extraordinary adventures, covering some of the same notorious killers and reflecting on chilling childhood encounters with sociopaths.
Their lifelong bond began at the 1984 trial of Diane Downs, an Oregon woman who shocked the nation by shooting her own children, killing one. Rule described Jaeger's groundbreaking half hour television documentary on Downs as “the seminal personality profile” of a murderous mother.
Jaeger’s immersion in the story extended to Hollywood, where she played herself as a reporter in the Peabody Award winning movie adaptation of Rule’s book Small Sacrifices, starring Farrah Fawcett. Fawcett asked Jaeger for tips on playing Diane Downs during the filming.
Over the years, Jaeger hosted an Emmy-winning Garden show filmed in her own vibrant acre garden. She has also been a talk show host, a newspaper columnist for the Portland Tribune, created digital garden videos for The Oregonian, and authored and hosted a popular gardening DVD for the paper.
When she's not writing or digging in the dirt, Anne enjoys time with her daughter (a dedicated teacher,) hummingbirds, and her charming Scottish Fold cat, Nona.
