Did you know that Mars is "burping" methane from its sub-surface? But only at night. And its not accumulating in the atmosphere. Naturally, scientists have lots of questions about why this is happening, especially since we're planning to visit one day. Join us to hear more about....
Topic: The Martian Methane Mystery!
Our guest speaker is John Blankenhorn, a Chemistry PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. While John's current research isn't space-related, he's always happy to chat about space science and the chemistry of other planets. We are very excited to have him along to do exactly that!
As usual, our meeting will also cover club business including upcoming events, observing and outreach.
**** Important note: We are starting the meeting early at 3pm so that members have time to travel to the observing field at Charlie Elliott if it is a clear night.
