Monte Warden won his first of a dozen Austin Music Awards when he was just 15 years old. The buzz of that band (Whoa Trigger!) ushered him into his next project: The Wagoneers. Stout and High, The Wagoneers’ debut album, is regarded as one of the best and most influential country albums of the era. Warden has been signed to four different record labels: A&M Records, RCA, Watermelon, and Asylum/Warner Records.Warden’s songs have sold millions of copies, been included in major films and television shows, and have been recorded by record label giants such as George Strait, Carrie Underwood, George Jones, and Travis Tritt, to name a few. In 2007, Warden was awarded the prestigious BMI 'Million-Air' Award, which signifies over 1 million radio plays, for his song "Desperately." He is one of the rare two-time members of the Texas Music Hall of Fame, both as a solo artist and as a member of The Wagoneers.
In 2017, he announced his new project Monte Warden and the Dangerous Few. The group plays all-original material showcasing Warden’s writing and vocal chops in the Jazz/Traditional Pop genre. The group’s debut self-tiled album, released in 2020, features “masterful writing that is both fluidly jazzy and rootsy in its bare-bones presentation" (Houston Chronicle). “Call it the Great Americana Songbook,” says Paste Magazine, it’s “a Tex-Mex twist to the Rat Pack sound.”
The album received first-ballot Grammy nominations in six categories, including Best Americana Album and Album of the Year. Warden can be seen every Friday on his Facebook page for The Monte Warden Feel Good Hour.
