Hello to all of you, who are passionate about owning, riding, or tinkering with dirt bikes, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. I'm planning an inaugural Montana Wheeler Day on June 29, 2024, at my acreage in Helena's North Valley. Sorry side-by-side enthusiasts, this event is not for you. This will be a time for people to bring wheelers to sell or trade. There will be many machines for sale for kids/teens/adults. If you are not looking to buy or sell, you are welcome to come and kick some tires. During this event it would be a good time for people to talk trash why Suzuki is better than Kawasaki, why Can-Am is better than Yamaha, etc. If people have ATV: tires, rims, boxes, parts, etc. or mufflers, forks, etc. for dirt bikes, this would be the time to bring those items to sell, like a swap meet. I will present trophies for bragging rights. Trophies will be given to winners for the Cheapskate Award (original/minimal money spent) and Daddy Warbucks Award (best modifications/lots of money spent). We will have a grilled lunch and a lemonade stand available for purchase, proceeds will be used to pay for portable bathrooms, trophies, and s’mores. It'll be something like a hotdog, chips, and a bottle of water for $5. Please buy a lunch so my wife will let me do this next year too :)
My good friend Sig is a Powersports guru in Helena who can do it all! He will be on hand for you to meet and discuss any work you might need done on your machine(s). When I want my machines to run well and keep my family safe, I have him work on them. He can answer any of your questions and you can take his card for future correspondence.
If you are interested in attending, please reach out to me. I will need a head count to plan lunch; I would also like to warn my neighbors about some two-stroke smoke. :) The plan would be to come and unload from 8am-12PM. After lunch, the votes will be tallied, and the winners will be presented with trophies at 12:30PM. Then we can all load up and head to Nelson, MT to start a group ride up Hogback Mountain. Hopefully on a new machine for some of you! People coming from far away or local, feel free to pull your camper and stay the night. There won't be any electricity or water hookups but there is plenty of room. At dusk, there will be a big bonfire to end this amazing day with s’mores. If it's going to be a rainy day on Saturday, everything will be moved to Sunday June 30th.
I'm open to other ideas/opinions to make this day the best it can be. I am looking forward to getting to know more Montanans who love to ride! More finalized information to come after the new year.
