The Poets:
Sarah Matthes is a poet from central New Jersey. Her debut collection of poetry Town Crier (Persea, 2021) won the Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize and was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. She has received support for her work from the Yiddish Book Center and the Civitella Ranieri Foundation. A graduate of the Michener Center for Writers, she still lives in Austin, TX, where she serves as the managing editor of Bat City Review, and teaches poetry at UT.
Jackson Holbert was born and raised in eastern Washington. His work has appeared in The Nation, Narrative, and Poetry. He received an MFA from the Michener Center for Writer and is currently a Jones Lecturer at Stanford. He also runs a Youtube page dedicated to snack food reviews.
Adams Adeosun is a writer from Nigeria and a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Their work has appeared in magazines and anthologies including The Republic, Transition, Catapult, The Offing, Limbe to Lagos: Nonfiction from Cameroon and Nigeria, and supported by fellowships from Goethe-Institut, MacDowell, and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. Their poetry chapbook, If the Golden Hour Won't Come for Us, is included in APBF's Kumi: New-Generation African Poets box set.
Jackie Chalghin is the 2024-2025 Hoffman-Halls Emerging Artist Fellow in Fiction at University of Wisconsin--Madison, where she also received her MFA. Her work has been long-listed for the 2024 DISQUIET prize and shortlisted for the 2024 Cecelia Joyce Johnson Award. She is the recipient of the Johanna Garfield Prize for Nonfiction Creative Writing and the Richard Knowles Teaching Award.
