A fun and expressive approach to screen printing for any experience level.Mono screen printing involves applying or painting colour directly onto an open screen in order to create unique prints with painterly marks. You will experiment with the application of paint and pastels exploring how different effects can be achieved. You will work in a spontaneous manner, creating a series of prints. There will also be opportunity to see how this method can be combined with the use of stencils.
What experience do I need?
This course is suitable for the beginner, however people with some screen printing experience may also enjoy and benefit from this alternate way of printing. The loose and abstract nature of mono screen printing can add an extra dimension to your practice.
What will I make?
Throughout the day you will produce 10-20 multicoloured prints to take away with you
Your Tutor
Nat Searle is an artist based in Leeds who primarily works with screen printing. She explores the relationship between stripped back graphics, colour and scale. Inspiration is drawn from her immediate environment with resulting pieces being localised or site specific. Nat is a cooperative member of Leeds Print Workshop and regularly works as one of our technicians, supporting members in the workshop.
Do I need to bring anything?
