Launching MONO for 2024 is a massive triple bill of outer orbit electronics and devolved song form.
Evicshen (US) is an experimental sound artist, performer, and instrument-maker based in San Francisco. Her sound practice is concerned with the spatiality/physicality of sound and its relationship to the human body. Her music features analog modular synthesizers, vinyl/resin records, and self-built electronics. Dynamic and unruly, her shows capture a sense of delight in chaos.
Yamila’s (ES) work is rooted in a deep connection to Spanish folklore, baroque song form, and resonate electronics. Her Visions series of releases chart a unique path with densely textured harmonics and saturated pulses.
Kamberri/Canberra-based artist Sia Ahmad (AU) has built her practice around the interface of song and experimental musics. A restless musical forager, she is responsible for a long list of projects that celebrate a curiosity with sound and form. She is joined by Kellie Lloyd and Vanessa Tomlinson for a special collaborative performance.
Doors — 6.30pm
Performances — from 7.00pm sharp
MONO is a program of experimental sound curated by Lawrence English of Room40.
