Hin Bus Depot presents ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ช๐จ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ , a duo exhibition by wildlife photographer Peter Ong and visual artist Christine Das, united by their passion for wildlife and conservation. The exhibition showcases the rich biodiversity of Peninsula Malaysia, with a particular focus on its primate species, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into the lives of our not-so-distant cousins.
Peter Ongโs photography, which has extensively documented all primate species in Peninsula Malaysia, captures their beauty while shedding light on the urgent need to protect them and their rapidly disappearing habitats. His intimate portraits reveal the critical role these primates play within the ecosystem while highlighting the pressing conservation challenges they face in an increasingly fragile environment.
In response to Peterโs poignant photography, Christine Das brings a new dimension through her detailed graphite drawings. Known for her nature-inspired works, Christine interprets the vulnerability and majesty of Malaysiaโs primates with emotional depth, reimagining Peterโs visual narratives through her unique artistic lens. Together, their works form a dialogue with Peter capturing real-life moments in the wild, and Christine responding with her own visual language, resulting in a powerful statement about the delicate balance of nature and the pressing need for its preservation.
What began as an artistic collaboration in Monkey Business has evolved into a creative crusade for conservation. Together, Peter and Christine aim to raise awareness about Malaysiaโs rich biodiversity, presenting a compelling narrative through photography and drawing that celebrates the beauty of nature while urging the critical need for its protection.
