About this Event
The handling of money creates ethical and clinical issues for psychotherapists in private practice--starting, but by no means ending--with how we determine our fee structure. In this interactive workshop we invite participants to deeply consider the opportunities and challenges these issues present in the context of various Professional Codes of Ethics and along with other relevant literature.
Registration is limited to 10 participants to facilitate robust dialogue and sharing. Lunch is included in the registration fee.
3 CE credits offered (ethics). The Continuing Education Committee of the
Georgia Psychological Association has granted this program with GPA-Approval.
Workshop Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Detail the APA Code of Ethics Principles and Sections that have particular relevance to financial matters in private practice;
- Identify one's own strengths and challenges when handling money in private practice (using money genogram as a tool);
- Prepare strategies for closing gaps between current processes and more robust practices, as dictated by APA Sections and/or inspired by APA Principles
