About this Event
Will you help us?
LGBT+ people in the county, aged 50 - 100+, are invited to join SAND in some discussions to identify a whole range of questions that may arise for people around particular themes. These will then be collated into a 'Frequently Asked Questions' resource alongside the details of organisations which may be able to help people to find the answers!
Our fourth theme is Money and the Law
There are lots of conflations and misunderstandings about Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, next of kin - whether or not someone may contest or go against the wishes of a family member, whether houses may be sold to pay for care - whose rights may be under threat.
We are after some lively discussions which raise lots of questions. Can you help?
What sort of questions are in your head?
You are welcome to attend just one or more - or all of sessions.
Also coming this week - themes on:
- Ageing without children
- Housing & home
- Wellbeing
- Care and caring
We will also be hosting a couple fo face-to-face coffee mornings
Questions already out there include:
- who is going to look out for my interests in 30 years’ time?
- what are my options if home maintenance starts stressing me out?
- what if I have a temporary health condition which means it is hard for me to cope at home in the short term?
- are there any implications of not being married or in a Civil Partnership?
- how does anyone pay for the care that they need?
