Ben Jarrad is a musician's musician. His Musical career started at a young age , playing in local bands ranging from hardcore to funk, jazz, blues and country. After high school he studied at Berkeley School of Music on a scholarship, taking classes to hone his craft and songwriting abilities. He has played and learned from some of the greats in R&B, Soul and Blues genres.
He toured and learned life on the road, with Ian Moore as Ian's bass player & vocalist. He has been traveling the U.S. as a session player and has his own band he plays in, Ruckus. Who he shares writing and composing duties with his fellow multi-instrumentalist band mate, Jake Shaffer-MacDonald. He also runs the singer / songwriter open mic at Montrose's Siphon Coffee.
He has taught musicians of all skill levels at Bojangels School of Music at Houston's Famous Rockin Robin Guitar Store, and Katy Music Studio, teaching guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, vox, music theory, and now offers private lessons in his studio, and now with Covid, via live video chat
Ben Jarrad has also played with bands such as, Spain Colored Orange, Southbound Underground and Autumn Armor.
To add to his diverse resume, he was a tennis instructor at Harvard University, and also makes one helluva open flame grilled pizza with some of the best tomato sauce one could ever taste.
