A MIXIE is a social dance featuring a fusion of several night club and ballroom dance styles!
Featuring contemporary music, a MIXIE event encourages dancers to break free from traditional constraints and unleash their creativity. Do you prefer Hustle? West Coast? Ballroom Rhythm/Latin? Fusion? Freestyle? Want to mix it up? Contemporary music is the perfect canvas on which to paint your favorite style of dance!

👉If you’re brand new, don’t worry, every Monday there’s a beginner class that will get you started partner dancing to modern music!

Latin Hustle:
This might not be the typical line dance you’re thinking of! This dynamic partner dance was born in the ‘70s in New York’s serious underground disco scene, when dancers blended syncopated cuban rhythms with flowy contemporary movement. Hustle is still danced today, and is incredibly useful since it happens to use the same rhythms found in modern pop music. You won’t regret giving this exciting dance a try.
Night Club 2-Step:
This couples' dance was initially developed in the late ‘70s by master dance guru Buddy Schwimmer. It is particularly useful as a way to dance to slower-paced contemporary music that doesn’t quite fit into other dance genres. The flowy movement and beautiful lines of the dance are fun to execute and emphasize a beautiful partner connection. This dance just feels good!
