👯 7PM - TWB Instructors and DJs Photos
If you regularly teach or DJ for Tidewater Blues please let us know if you'll be joining us for pictures! The hope is that we'll get a good variety of each person to use for promo graphics over the next year. If the weather is nice we'll try to catch some sunlight in the gardens - bring bug spray, a sweat towel, whatever else you need to touch-up between picture-dances 🤗
🟣 7:30PM- 30min Beginner Drop-in Lesson
There will be a 30-min Beginner Blues Drop-in to get any new or new-to-blues dancers ready for the social dance floor immediately following the lesson!
🔵 8-10PM - DJed Social Dance & Photo-op
Our DJs for the social dance will be Savanna and Abby🙌👏
On Mondays we highlight the "roots" of Blues with true blues tunes from the likes of Willie Dixon, Big Mama Thorton, BB King, just to name a few -- while also featuring a few "fruits", contemporary genres that were directly influenced by the blues (which is arguably most music nowadays 😏).
🤓 8-10PM - JCPenney-style photobooth upstairs
Throughout the social dance be sure to check out the snacks and lounge upstairs along with the JCPenney-style photobooth! If you'd like nice dance pictures but silly JCPenney photobooth pics, then bring your turtle necks/thick glasses/double-jean outfits to change in and out of 😂
💸 $5-15 donation appreciated, not required
We are a donation-based blues dance community who believe dance and community should be as accessible as possible—but I'm sure you know, everyone's got bills 😅 If you are able, we appreciate any and all support via cash, Venmo, CashApp, or volunteering for setup/cleanup or providing water bottles or snacks #forthecommunitybythecommunity
👚 Dress however YOU want to appear in your dance pics
These are YOUR pictures, so dress however you want: if you want dance pics in that fancy outfit you never get to wear - do it! If you want to be comfy and casual - do it! And don't forget the JCPenney-style photobooth upstairs, if you want to pack your chunky sweater vest and mom-jeans for later 😉
‼️ NOTE: We will NOT be posting any picture without permission from those in it. We will create a Google folder and share the link when it's ready at a future Monday Night Blues. The instructors and DJs are taking pics for promo graphics, but the pics during the social are simply for YOU: keeping memories, a new profile pic, proof that you do indeed dance - whatever you want 🤗
