About this Event
Grief is lonely, and everyone grieves in their own way. Sometimes it’s helpful to be with others who are also grieving in their own lonely way. A peer grief support group is a time-tested and effective way to process grief.
Who should attend this grief support group?
- Adults who have lost a loved one, whether recently or not-so-recently.
- Bereaved people feeling lonely.
- Anyone who wants to share stories about the person they are missing.
- Those who find comfort being with others.
What to expect in group:
- Tell your story. Speak your loved one’s name.
- Have your feelings seen, heard, and understood.
- Cultivate empathy by listening to each other’s stories.
- Connection and community with other grievers.
How the group flows:
- Brief meditation (5 minutes)
- Introductions (15 minutes)
- Reading (5 minutes)
- Sharing (45 minutes)
- Reflections & Closing (20 minutes)
These are ongoing, drop-in groups, but space is limited. Come as often as you'd like, but please register ahead of time. Discounts and packages are available. Groups are also scheduled for Monday evenings and Thursday evenings (traumatic loss only). Contact Tamara for details about the other times.
