Our prayer group meeting will be held in the sanctuary. This group will practice an ancient prayer form sometimes referred to as the Divine Office, although it goes by other names ("Evening Prayer" is one of those). Unlike some "prayer meetings," this will not include Bible study or discussion. It's sole purpose is to offer time for silence before God in a group setting.
Using Psalms and other scripture, silence, and a time for verbal petitions in the form of sentence prayers, we will go deeper into the practice of meditation called "contemplative prayer." The first two sessions will include instruction in the use of silence (tools for helping us stay focused) and some written material that we can take home.
