The Monash Committee is very pleased to invite you to our 2024 Club Championships! This will be a series of social game days to brush up on our game skills in the lead up to the next State Champs season commencing July.
The Club Championships will also be a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better in and out of the pool, play in teams different to their weekly games and to enjoy the sport.
The Club Champs are aimed to be a social event and open to all members, newcomers and friends. Based on signups, teams will be arranged broadly into three classes – men’s, women’s and mixed beginners.
Members of all levels are encouraged to attend as we can always learn a thing or two from each other, and enjoy each other’s company by the pool!
Each game night will be on every 2nd Sunday afternoon with a BBQ dinner to celebrate after the final round. The number of games each night will depend on signups.
The dates will be:
· Sunday 5 May
· Sunday 19 May
· Sunday 2 June
· Sunday 16 June
· Sunday 30 June
We will also be looking to organise a series of 5x 30-minute short courses before each game day. These courses will also be free to attend and open to all interested players and parents.
· Session 1 – Understanding the rules and referee
· Session 2 – Introduction to refereeing
· Session 3 – Introduction to coaching
· Session 4 – Tactics and positions
· Session 5 – Development pathways
These events will be all free to attend for members and friends. We encourage as many people to sign up and bring friends as possible!
