Join us for a hands-on Monarch Waystation Workshop all about monarch butterflies on Saturday, November 1 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the Kyle Community Garden at Post Oak, 193 Goddard. At this workshop, you’ll learn why monarch butterflies need our help and how you can make a difference by creating a monarch waystation in your own yard.
This workshop includes:
- A short educational presentation including information on why monarch butterflies are important to our ecosystem, the challenges they face and how waystations help
- Step-by-step instructions on how to build and register your own certified monarch waystation
- Hands-on planting of a monarch waystation
- Your choice of one of four landscape designs to take home
- A full set of the 25 native plants used in the monarch way station, everything you need to recreate it at home
Registration and a fee of $35 is required to participate. Space is limited to 20 people 18 years of age or older.

This event is a great opportunity to give back to nature and learn how to support monarch conservation right in your backyard. The event is hosted by the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department’s Conservation Division.
