Join Birds, Bees, Butterflies - Bemidji in celebrating our 8th annual Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, October 4th from 1:00 -4:00pm!This year’s event is being held at Bemidji’s new Veterans Home. Come learn about the ‘Birds for Veterans’ project at the facility. Hear from Thomas Dirth on how time spent in nature can benefit your health. Allison Barta will provide her annual Butterfly Report, and Headwaters Art and Music will feature special nature-themed music. Learn about four things you can do to help pollinators in your yard from Ann Gorman. Finally, stay for the highlight of the event - a children’s butterfly parade!
Join a tour of the new Veterans Home and collect information from local organizations. Children (and adults!) can arrive early to make butterfly wings in prep for the children’s parade. Celebrate the incredible 3,000 mile, fall migration journey made every year by Minnesota’s state butterfly!
