May is for Monarchs! A Special Conservation Workshop at Pixie Moss Meadow. Join us for a very special Monarch Butterfly Day at Pixie Moss Meadows! This brand-new educational conservation workshop is near and dear to our hearts, and we can’t wait to share it with you.🦋 Mission Save the Monarchs 🦋
A little backstory on this exciting new project—Mission Save the Monarchs. In 2017, I completed a Monarch Stewardship program through the National Wildlife Federation. I have always been fascinated by these magnificent, magical creatures, and when I learned that the Eastern monarch population has declined by 90% over the past two decades, I knew I had to do something to help.
For the past six years, every May, I have raised a small colony of monarch larvae with my children. We’ve had the joy of watching their incredible life cycle unfold before setting them free in our butterfly garden. Supporting pollinators like monarchs is crucial to our environment! This year, we’re taking our efforts to the next level—and we want YOU to be part of it!
We are thrilled to introduce our Butterfly Lepidopterarium Workshop, where we will come together to help conserve the monarch population. In this hands-on experience, you’ll create a beautiful planted terrarium designed to nurture monarch larvae, allowing you to observe their transformation up close before releasing them into the wild. This workshop is not just about creating a habitat—it’s about making a real impact and helping these incredible pollinators thrive.
Each gardener will receive a 10-gallon butterfly house, live plants, live milkweed, and all the supplies needed to build a thriving lepidopterarium. You’ll also receive live, certified monarch larvae and expert guidance on how to care for them through their life cycle. To help you continue your conservation efforts beyond this workshop, we’ll provide milkweed and wildflower seeds so you can start your own butterfly garden at home.
As a special thank you for joining this mission, we are also launching our exclusive Pixie Moss Meadows “Mission Save the Monarchs” T-shirts, and each participant will receive one. Be sure to select your preferred size at checkout. Light refreshments will be provided, and of course, you’ll be surrounded by the magical atmosphere of Pixie Moss Meadows.
Tickets for this unforgettable experience are $99 per gardener, and space is limited. If you’ve ever wanted to witness the magic of metamorphosis, contribute to monarch conservation, and create something truly meaningful, this is your chance.
We can’t wait to embark on this journey with you. Let’s make a difference together!
Please note that we reserve the right to reschedule our workshops due to any unforeseen weather conditions or family emergency. We will let you know within 24 hours rescheduling dates and start time.
All ticket sales are non-refundable.
