Join us for award-winning fiction writer Mona Susan Power’s presentation with Q&A on Wednesday, 3/12 at 6:30pm at UTRGV. Mona Susan Power is the author of four books of fiction, including The Grass Dancer (National Bestseller awarded a PEN/Hemingway Prize), Roofwalker (a collection of short stories awarded the Milkweed National Fiction Prize), Sacred Wilderness (a novel which received the Electa Quinney Award), and A Council of Dolls (winner of the Minnesota Book Award and High Plains Book Award, longlisted for the National Book Award). Her work has also appeared in The Best American Short Stories, The Atlantic Monthly, The Paris Review, Ploughshares, and Granta.
Mona, an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, is a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Law School, and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She’s a past recipient of the James Michener Fellowship, Princeton Hodder Fellowship, USA Artists Fellowship, a Native Arts and Cultures Foundation Fellowship, and more.
