About this Event
The walk begins at The Corn Dolly, one of the city’s oldest surviving pubs and a place once frequented by residents of the now-vanished neighbourhood.
From there, Naseem will lead a gentle route across Canal Road and up towards what remains of Wapping, stopping at the site of her great-aunt Mona’s birth at 4 Wild Boar Street, opposite the old Wapping Road School. Along the way, she’ll share stories gathered through her research into the area and its people—small histories that rarely find their way into the official record.
The walk concludes back at The Corn Dolly, where participants can settle in with a pint while Naseem introduces an interactive textile sculpture shaped by “midden finds” and the traces of domestic life that inspired the work.
The walk starts at 16:30, lasts around 30 minutes, and involves a steady uphill section. All welcome.
