About this Event
Join us for a developmental reading of a new adaptation of Sophocles' lesser-done play. Ajax concerns the death of the eponymous character, who takes his life toward the end of the Trojan War. Filled with grief over his fallen friend, Achilles, and betrayed by his commanding officers when passed over as an inheritor to Achilles' arms, he is driven to an unimaginable act of violence. The adaptation is updated to reflect lingering questions in the aftermath of tragedy and the splintering of communities as they attempt to make sense of the violence around them.
TW: This play contains explicit descriptions of violence, suicide, war, and trauma. If you have questions about content and its handling, please reach out.
