Join us for an evening of expansive and unexpected sounds at Leaven Community Center on Sunday, May 19th. Musicians from near and far will be presenting recent compositions and improvisational works. The Cosmic Tones Research Trio (Roman Norfleet, Harlan Silverman, and Kennedy Realness) will be headlining the night, playing some cosmic tones for mental therapy. Jasmine Wood, originally from Portland, OR will be visiting from Dublin, Ireland, off the heels of her recent release Piano Reverb on AD 93. The album was inspired by Wood’s encounters with vacant churches across Ireland, so we’re excited to have her present her works on the piano at Leaven Community Center. Portland-based composer and sound designer Britton Judd will be opening the night with exciting new compositions. His sound utilizes field recordings, synthesizers and acoustic instruments to evoke feelings of reflection and conjure other-worldly senses.
