There are two reasons we’re holding an open mic night. Primarily we want to raise the public profile of the Chippenham Masonic Centre and encourage people that perhaps have never seen the inside of a lodge before to join us for a fun night. Secondarily (but not least) we want to raise money for the Charities including Wiltshire Air Ambulance via the MCF.
We need acts:
It would be brilliant if we could get a note into the Provincial Magazine and comms out to WM’s in lodges surrounding Chippenham giving plenty of notice of the event to give Masonic musicians chance to rehearse and get involved with sufficient lead time.
We need an audience:
We need Masonic family and friends to attend and be the audience and create a friendly atmosphere for the acts that we can invite enquirers on the members’ pathway to.
We need a hand:
There is a lot that goes into running an Open Mic night including marshalling the acts, comparing, mixing the sound, serving food and drinks, to mention just a few. I could also do with a hand getting booking tickets and food into Eventbrite if we know anyone that has the skills!
We have a full professional sound stage ready to support up to 6 or 7 piece bands. We can put on backing tracks for solo performers and we can even offer to accompany singers live. We learned loads from putting on MOM1 last year was great fun for all and we will be implementing all the good ideas we captured from the last one.
