About this Event
Lt. Col. Petkunas served as an F-4 Phantom Weapons Systems Officer during the Vietnam War and brings firsthand, close-up accounts of flying combat missions in one of the most lethal and complex air defense environments in the history of warfare. His stories include being under direct fire, enduring extreme G-forces, moments he describes as a “Hand from Above,” and surviving a combat ejection.
Over the course of his career, Lt. Col. Petkunas flew more than 200 combat missions over Vietnam and received 33 military decorations for his service. By the time of his retirement, he outranked 99% of the U.S. Air Force—an extraordinary testament to a distinguished and courageous career.
