About this Event
Join us this November 1st for a unique perspective on the Cold War and Moffett Field, as four experienced Naval patrol aviators discuss the intricacies and difficulties of Anti-Submarine Warfare during the Cold War, and the role of Moffett Field’s patrol squadrons in the unsung yet vital aspect of this 30-year conflict.
CAPT Tom Spink, CAPT Mike Goss, CAPT Chuck Rader, and LT Matt Gibbons have chased Soviet submarines in practically every ocean around the world and will share their personal stories of flying 14-hour patrol missions, detecting Soviet subs and surface ships, and harrowing tales of aircrew survival in this harsh operating environment.
Step back into the tension and triumphs of the Cold War era as these veteran aviators bring history to life with rare insights, gripping stories, and a behind-the-scenes look at Moffett Field’s crucial role in defending the free world. From long, frigid patrols over open seas to the cat-and-mouse games played deep beneath the waves, this is a fascinating glimpse into the bravery, technology, and teamwork that defined a generation of sub hunters.
