Speaker Series: J.R. Williams – WWI Fighter Pilot Ace Frank Luke, "The Arizona Balloon Buster"
Join us at the Moffett Field Museum for an engaging presentation by historian J.R. Williams on the life and legacy of Frank Luke, one of America’s most remarkable World War I fighter aces. Known as “The Arizona Balloon Buster,” Luke was celebrated for his daring solo attacks on heavily defended German observation balloons and aircraft during the final months of the war. In just 17 days of combat, he achieved 18 aerial victories—an extraordinary record that earned him the Medal of Honor.
Through vivid storytelling, historical photographs, and rare insights, J.R. Williams will bring to life the exploits, courage, and ultimate sacrifice of this legendary pilot.
