Music: 6:00 PM // Doors: 5:00 PM -- Tickets: $10Moe Reen writes from the heart, for the heart. A lifelong vocalist,
they possess an old-school timbre that harkens to the
honky-tonk-heartbreak crooners of yesteryear, and is often compared by listeners to Patsy Cline. While Moe’s vocals beckon to a time gone by, their lyrics appeal to the personal-political concerns of today, ranging from topics that include climate disaster, seasonal depression, and queer experience. Moe's marriage of sentimental sound with contemporary sentiment produces something distinctly their own: earnest lyrics cradled by melodies that tenderly soar to tend to the sore, soft spots of us all.
Jacob Perez is a songwriter living in Cincinnati, OH. His songs are
earthy, contemplative and full of vivid images and stories. He
traverses many sonic traditions of American music, garnering
comparisons to a wide range of artists from Jason Isbell to Pavement. His songs often lament the struggle of being a working-class artist, celebrate the joy of love and friendship and or parse through memories and past lives. On his upcoming third album, There's So Many Ways to Live a Life, Jacob’s songs are sharper than ever, full of characters who are carving a path in the hills and valleys of life. This go-around, Perez is backed by the Arkansas-based indie rock band, Kin & Company and his sound is as full and focused as ever, at times recalling the likes of Tom Petty or Lucinda Williams. His live shows offer a sparse and intimate retelling of these stories, inviting the listener to feel a little bit less alone in the world.
