‘There is geometry in the humming of the strings. There is music in the spacing of the spheres.’ – Pythagoras.

Ancient texts from different traditions already mention that the entire universe is made up of vibration. Sound has been used since the beginning of human history as a way of connecting with nature. It serves as a form of equilibrium with the cosmos as well as a vehicle to reach deep states of tranquillity and transcendence.

Cultures from all over the planet have always shown a great interest in the benefits that sound offers and the ability to channel them into our health. Nowadays, modern societies are rediscovering these practices, and Nāda Yoga (the Yoga discipline through listening) is becoming increasingly present in holistic and therapeutic environments.

These sacred techniques lead to a personal transformation process in harmony with our environment and have notable health benefits, such as inducing balance in the nervous system, helping to improve sleep quality, stimulating the secretion of endorphins for well-being, or increasing our hearing and active listening capacities.
As a first module included in the course ‘The Vibration of the Universe: Introduction to Sound Healing Practices’, we learn about Fundamentals of Sound: Healing Body, Mind & Spirit.
We will have a look at some theory aspects, enjoy different exercises, review sound therapy approaches, and explore the wisdom of musical instruments.
We will enjoy the following program:
• Origins of sound and music. We are vibrational beings.
• Principles of sound healing. Harmony, resonance, intention.
• Sound and the elements. Feeling the qualities of music instruments.
• The therapeutic meaning. Contemporary sound healing science. Benefits of sound on health.
• The Nāda Yoga practice. Our listening capacities.
• How to focus a sound bath. Techniques and creativity.
This module is directed at anyone who wants to deepen and experience the
characteristics and benefits of sound and vibration. Whether you practice Yoga asana, meditation, or create music, you are awakening a motivation to work in the sound therapy field, or you simply want to develop yourself and research this practice. No music or Yoga experience is required.

Her professional path encompasses two decades as a PR and Marketing specialist in the music, hospitality and property industries as well as primary school teaching. Mel’s musical passion was sparked aged 4 through classical piano, fanned by recorder aged 8 and continues well into her late 40s through the joy of gongs, bowls, harp, flute, guitar & chanting mantras.
Besides offering group/private sessions and wellness certification courses in five languages at her garden oasis studio, Mel has also been honoured to share the healing vibrations of her gongs at Tedex Chiangmai, Wonderfruit Festival, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and the Alliance Française Bangkok. She also offers off-site corporate wellness sessions.
Her community studio is a sacred space for sharing deep healing, education and the empowerment of students to grow into confident practitioners and teachers.
Santiago is passionate about practicing sound therapy from different perspectives. His activities include handling individual treatments, workshop and course coordination, and sound educational project management.
Having taken western classical music education at an early age focused on piano playing, and following his exploration and studies on contemporary and traditional music for more than 25 years, he received a rooted knowledge of Himalayan bowls in Kathmandu (Nepal) by Master Shree K. Shahi, and a deep instruction and
understanding of Sound Healing practices at Svaram Sound Experience, a centre for sound research located in Tamil Nadu (India), where he had the opportunity to study deeply the vibrational part of Yoga.
Furthermore, he has an endless passion for creating music, including calming concert performances, running ecstatic dance events as a DJ, and producing tranquil electronic music.
Santiago believes in the connection between traditional and contemporary methods, with the mission of being a channel for people to experience a meditative state through sound. His sound healing vision follows inclusivity, being fed by different traditions around the globe.
