Join the author of “The Woman’s Guide: France” and Chef Instructor, Shawnie Kelley for a classic Parisian bistro menu that takes a turn for the contemporary. You begin making a French three-onion soup caramelized and steeped in a rich, earthy broth. We fire up the grill to make classic steak frites – simply put, steak and fries. For these recipes, you will properly sear a steak, hand-cut shoestring fries, and whip up fancy handmade aioli seasoned with herbs for dipping. Paired with a beautifully dressed green salad and poached egg, the complete meal reminds us of how the simplest of ingredients make for the tastiest of dishes when seasoned and cooked properly. For dessert, a boozy orange Crêpe Suzette brings a dramatic, flaming end to class. You will leave this class with techniques for caramelizing, grilling, emulsifying, and flambeeing and the skills to recreate an elevated bistro meal that will give your family and friends the Oh-la-la’s! A glass of wine is included during dinner.
