Spice up your kitchen routine with a flavorful dive into modern Moroccan cuisine with food writer and chef instructor Shawnie Kelley! In this hands-on cooking class, we’ll explore the rich culinary heritage of Morocco through a contemporary lens—preserving traditional spices and techniques while adding a fresh, creative twist. Whether you're new to Moroccan cuisine or looking to expand your flavor horizons, this class is packed with inspiration, technique, and of course—delicious food. Come hungry and curious!
On the Menu:
Lamb & Vegetable on Socca – Shawnie’s award-winning savory, slow-simmered tagine served over crispy chickpea crêpes, blending North African soul with Mediterranean flair.
Spiced Roasted Cauliflower with Preserved Lemon & Olives - Tender roasted cauliflower tossed in a warm blend of spices, preserved lemon, and briny green olives comes together in a zesty, savory side dish, highlighting fresh textures and spice-forward notes.
Honey, Date & Almond B’stilla Bites – A sweet-savory nod to the classic Moroccan pastry, reimagined into elegant, bite-sized treats perfect for sharing.
🍝 What to Wear:
- Aprons are provided.
- Please wear long pants and closed-toe, flat shoes.
- No sandals, flip-flops, or high heels are permitted in the kitchen for safety reasons.
- If you have long hair, make sure it is pulled back.

Nuts and other common food allergens are frequently used in our kitchens. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please contact us as soon as possible before class. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs; however, adjustments cannot be made during the class.
📩 Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel your class booking, you may do so up to 48 hours before the class to receive a refund or class credit.
If The Mix must cancel a class, you will be notified immediately by phone or email and given the option to switch to another class of equal value or receive a full refund.

All reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to sign up early.
Refunds will not be issued after a class has been held.
The Mix reserves the right to substitute instructors or modify class content when necessary.
