About this Event

Kintsugi is a technique of repairing broken ceramics and applying gold or silver or lacquer to the cracks. This technique, which emphasizes the scars rather than hiding them. It has been revered in Japan since ancient times as an art form that embraces imperfection and revitalizes it.

Traditional kintsugi requires as long as two months to complete, but this workshop uses a food-safe epoxy which hardens in a short time making it an easy way to experience kintsugi.

All materials and tools will be provided. Please bring only broken pieces.

Please bring 1 ceramic that has all of the following.

•Palm-size •Glazed •Simple clean broken into 2,3 pieces •No glue on it

Items that do not meet the above requirements may not be finished in time. If you are concerned about whether a piece can be restored, please email us with a photo of the piece you wish to fix.

*There are no refunds within 7 days of the event due to the limited number of spots in the workshop and the preparation involved
