San Francisco Modern Ethnic Fashion Week closes with an exclusive gala dinner featuring a haute couture fashion show by incredible designers from around the world. Voted Best Fashion Show in San Francisco for locals and tourists alike! a place where we celebrate cultural diversity, International Ethnic Day, as well as the Juneteenth celebration.Proceeds from the event will go toward the African Arts Academy to help establish an after-school and summer program that will provide African dance and drumming lessons to San Francisco residents, particularly at the Bayview Southeast Community Center. The program will serve kids, from ages 5 to 17, in the historically underserved Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco and the black community at large. The goal is also to make the program accessible to adults and San Francisco veterans interested in taking classes to help those who are struggling with mental health and PTSD.
This effort is to help folks from low-income families enroll in classes at very little or no cost. The goal is to help reduce gun violence, keep children off the street and away from substance abuse, and reduce car thefts and street robberies. This is not to solve any social problems; a study shows that African dance reduces stress and PTSD.
