Join Church of the Apostles UCC for a special Mocktails & Meaning session on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary. We’ll be hosting a free screening of the documentary 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture. This thought-provoking film follows researchers uncovering the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians, tracing it back to a mistranslation of the Bible in 1946. With never-before-seen archives from Yale University and insights from scholars and pastors, the documentary offers an enlightening and inspiring exploration of faith, inclusion, and the power of interpretation.After the movie, enjoy light refreshments, including soup, and participate in a discussion about the film’s impact and themes. Our featured mocktail for the evening will be a refreshing Grapefruit Lime Spritzer. Children are welcome, with toys and snacks available to keep them entertained during the screening.
