Greetings members & guests!
This will be the last meeting of the calendar year. Instructors, please encourage your students to attend as this is when we award our students with prizes for the most attendance.
Our Speaker for this month will be Mr. George Fairbanks of FIT, (Fairbanks Inspection and Testing).
Mr. Fairbanks is a family man, a devout Catholic Christan, a Navy veteran, 10 years as a research technician for LSU, 44 years as a CWI, and was the 2004 National CWI of the year. He is a past District 9 Director, 2012 AWS Counselor and is currently a 7-time AWS Baton Rouge Chairman. He started Fairbanks Inspection & Testing in 2008. Over his 40 plus years in the industry, he has written thousands of welding procedures and hundreds of repair procedures.
We are still seeking members who may want to join Mobile Section Executive Committee. If interested, please see, or get in tough with one of the members.
STUDENTS – Make sure you attend this meeting as we will be awarding the prizes for the most attended meetings this year. This meeting will also count towards that. Also, students, we encourage you to sign up for an AWS membership. Student membership is now FREE! It costs you nothing to join, but everything to gain. Please encourage your peers and family members to attend this meeting. Please bring your safety glasses if you would like to tour the Maritime Center.
Instructors – Please post this meeting notice in an area around your school that is easily accessible to your welding students and any student interested in a dynamic career as a design engineer. We are now utilizing Eventbrite for registration so students will need to start registering themselves to attend. You are more than welcome to forward them this meeting notice, but even easier simply print it out and they can scan the above QR Code with their phone to link to our Eventbrite registration page.
