About this Event
Got an idea for the next TikTok, Tinder or Uber? Learn how those ideas come to life in this 2-hour intro to mobile app development. During this session, we will explore the basic process involved in creating an app from scratch, designing the UI, installing it on your device, and submitting to the App Store.
WHAT WE WILL LEARN
We will create a very simple app using the mobile development platform React Native. Along the way, we will show how to connect buttons, navigate to different screens, detect user input and more. Though we will build for iPhone only during this session, the same tools and concepts can be applied to Android development as well.
BRING ALONG
This workshop is meant to be a preview therefore will move a bit faster than our full weekend courses. However, if you would like to follow along on your computer, please bring a laptop with Node JS, VS Code, and Xcode installed.
Who
This workshop is intended for anyone seeking to learn mobile development. Though intended for beginners, it would be helpful to know a few basic programming concepts such as variables, loops and arrays as well as a cursory knowledge of JavaScript.
