Mob the City Speak Easy - Fight for Human Rights Fight for those who can't fight back! Join us in the fight for human rights and against human trafficking right here in our community.
Come dressed as your favorite mobster!!! This 20's and 30's mob style speakeasy is a night fun, food and entertainment. From music to iconic impersonators, fantastic food, and silent auction. Let's come together to fund-raise and help bring awareness of our community's fight for human rights and against human trafficking.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime defines human trafficking as follows:
"..[T]he recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit. Men, women and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crime, which occurs in every region of the world. The traffickers often use violence or fraudulent employment agencies and fake promises of education and job opportunities to trick and coerce their victims."

What many do not know is that the state of Florida ranks among the top three US states (after California and Texas) in reported cases of human trafficking, with Tampa being one of the state's-- and the country's -- worst metropolitan offenders in that regard.
In the last few months alone, hundreds of victims from the ages of three (3) to eighteen (18) have been rescued in the Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco County areas. In one case, ninety four (94) victims were rescued from local motels in the heart of Tampa. Once rescued, these victims need help. From the basic essentials of everyday living, counseling, medical care, housing and transportation, the need is great.
For this end of year's event, we will host a fund-raising event with all the profits going to the premier front line charities that help victims in our community. Think about it, we are asking you to contribute in helping victims, some of which are our neighbors, to get back some normalcy after they suffered such inhumanity. Even if you can not attend the event, please consider giving $20, $50, $100, $500 or more. ALL proceeds will go to front line charities assisting victims in our community.
