Montessori education is grounded in the Four Planes of Development, which identify the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social milestones children progress through at each stage. In a Montessori school, the entire educational experience--classroom environment, materials, and curriculum--is specifically prepared to support optimal learning at each stage. Learn more about this developmental approach to education and what it means for your student now and during their entire journey at MMS at our November Parent Education events:
Wednesday, November 6 | 4:30 p.m. | Toddler and Primary (First Plane of Development)
Thursday, November 7 | 4:30 p.m.| Lower/Upper Elementary (Second Plane of Development)
Friday, November 8 | 11:00 a.m. | Middle School (Third Plane of Development)
(Fourth Plane of Development is adult/maturity.)
Parent education and involvement is an important component of our total education experience at MMS. The Montessori approach differs from traditional school in many key areas, and gaining insight into the philosophy and method can help you apply Montessori principles at home, gain insight into your child's day and work, and optimize student success in the classroom.
We look forward to seeing you in November!
