About this Event
Come join our crochet session open to all levels of proficiency!
Be a part of history, see artifacts, and enjoy a free class hosted by our non-profit organization (tax deductible donations are welcomed).
As we kick off Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Service, we are hosted this session in the private Meadow Ridge Community Center. This place is nestled inside historic African-American community which was founded in 1883 by emancipated slaves. In conjunction with the class, on display will be historic crochet artifacts from Prathertown including an item that won a blue ribbon at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair.
Participants can take their creations home but will also have the opportunity to leave them to be donated. Crochet a scarf, hat, small blanket, or gloves to help your community members stay warm this winter! We are also gratefully accepting donations of all kinds year round.
Light food and drink will be provided after the session. Donations welcomed and appreciated. Ages 13 and up please. Parking on Prathertown Road. We reserve the right to cancel this session due to inclement weather. Volunteers are encouraged for our year round programming.
